Flame Dancer:
This is one of my paintings, it is entitled Flame Dancer. And I love
how the dancer brings you right into the middle of the painting. Makes
you wonder just what he is trying to do there dancing in the flames.
The inspiration for this painting is that of the red earth burials that
are done in Nova Scotia. And several Native American Creation Myths about
the beginnings of life, with a Superhero called Monster Slayer. |
Raven: Another painting I have done. This one is based on the Native American tales about Trickster figures. There are Raven, Rabbit, and Coyote. The trickster figures are similar to Br’er Rabbit and Br’er Fox. Trickster figures were also the Native American’s way of telling fables. In all of them the trickster is just a little (a whole lot) silly and always learns a hard lesson. Raven is also the symbol for magic. |

This is picture of the view out the backdoor of the ranch house I spent the last 9 years living at. The view here includes one of the old wagons that my great-grandmother took eggs and milk to town in to sell each week. The telephone pole that is behind the wagon is where the one room schoolhouse that my grandmother taught in. And where my father went to school for his first three years of school. If I had stayed in Colorado that was the site I was going to build a house on. The ranch that all of this is part of is 1200 acres and my family originally homesteaded it, and my family has been there for close to a hundred years. To the right side of this photo is where my parents’ new house is built. They just finished building it this month. | |
This is a manga drawing that my daughter did, and I am really proud of it. She did all the drawing of this one on the computer. I don’t have the patience to draw with a mouse the way she does. (not by a long shot). I think she is very talented with her computer and with her drawing ability, but her best talent is for the use of words. Someday, I may see a bestseller by her. | ![]() |
